Opening a New Fiscal Period

Oneir Solutions works on a 3 year (36 open period) basis. It means that you can keep up to 36 months open. Once you reach the 36th month, Oneir will not allow you to start a new period unless you close the oldest fiscal year in order to start the new fiscal year.

In order to prepare the system for the new fiscal year, you must go to the 'General Ledger' menu and 'Carry Out Year End Closing' (selection 8). This process automatically removes the data for three years prior, leaving the past two years available for recall and possible adjustments, and make room to start the new year.

If you wish to keep a record of your General Ledger data from your oldest fiscal period on Oneir Solutions, simply do a backup and save the disks in a secure place. Remember that you should have paper copies of this data.
